The People Behind the Collaborative

Military Brain Health Collaborative

There is still no way to diagnose blast-related brain injury in a living person, and no FDA-approved treatment for it. The Military Brain Health Collaborative was established to close the gap between the science and the lived experience of our warfighters and veterans.

Each group below plays a distinct role in one shared mission.

Military Brain Health Collaborative Working Group

The Working Group is the Collaborative’s medical and scientific engine. Bringing together leading international brain health researchers and clinicians, it developed the research roadmap guiding our work and identifies the most promising proposals from across the field.

Special Operations Forces Leadership Council

The Special Operations Forces Leadership Council is the voice of lived experience within the Collaborative. Its more than a dozen members, many of whom continue to serve on active duty, help define the real-world problems the research must solve and keep the work grounded in what matters most to warfighters. To protect their security, members’ names are not published.

    Strategic Advisors

Our Strategic Advisors bring expertise from academic medicine, scientific research, military health, and industry, offering perspectives that inform the Collaborative's work.
