The Invisible Wounds Foundation is proud to welcome Dr. Walter Koroshetz to its board of directors and as a senior advisor. Dr. Koroshetz served as director of the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke (NINDS) at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) — the nation’s leading funder of brain and nervous system research — and spent years overseeing federal neuroscience programs across NIH and the Department of Defense.

Before joining NINDS, he directed stroke and neurointensive care services at Massachusetts General Hospital and trained neurology residents at Harvard Medical School. His addition to the IWF team reflects the foundation’s commitment to building the scientific leadership needed to accelerate diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of traumatic brain injuries in the U.S. military.
